FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
About Our Retreats
What types of retreats do you offer? We create two main types of experiences: wellness retreats (focused on yoga, meditation, rest, and holistic therapies) and cooking retreats (combining wellness practices with hands-on culinary workshops led by expert chefs). Both take place in beautiful historic properties in the French countryside.
How long are your retreats? Our signature retreats are week-long experiences (7 days/6 nights), though we also offer extended retreats for those wanting to dive even deeper. This length gives you time to truly unwind, learn new practices, and experience lasting transformation—not just a quick weekend escape.
When do retreats take place? We host retreats during spring (April-June) and autumn (September-November) when the French countryside is at its most beautiful, the weather is perfect for outdoor activities, and local markets are bursting with seasonal produce.
Where in France are the retreats held? We carefully select historic properties in the French countryside—from restored farmhouses to manor houses—each chosen for its character, beauty, and peaceful surroundings. Specific locations are confirmed when you book, and we share full details about each venue.
Who Are These Retreats For?
Do I need to be fit or flexible? Absolutely not. Our retreats welcome all fitness levels, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Yoga sessions are adapted to suit everyone in the group, and there's never any pressure to do anything beyond your comfort level.
Do I need yoga experience? No previous yoga experience is required. We have complete beginners on every retreat, and our teachers are skilled at making everyone feel welcome and supported. If you can breathe, you can do yoga!
What if I've never cooked before? (For cooking retreats) Perfect! Our cooking retreats are designed for all skill levels. Whether you're a complete beginner or a confident home cook, you'll learn new techniques, gain confidence in the kitchen, and have fun doing it. Our chefs are excellent teachers who make everything approachable and enjoyable.
What's the age range? We welcome guests from their 20s to their 70s and beyond. The beauty of small groups is that age becomes irrelevant—what matters is that everyone is there with an open heart and a desire to connect.
Can I come alone? Absolutely! Many of our guests travel solo and find it's actually the perfect way to experience a retreat. You'll be welcomed into a small, intimate group where genuine connections form naturally. Solo travelers often tell us it's one of the best decisions they've made.
Can couples attend together? Yes! Couples are very welcome. We can usually accommodate shared rooms (please mention this when booking), and many couples find that experiencing a retreat together deepens their connection.

Practical Details
How many people attend each retreat? We keep groups small and intimate—never more than 12 guests. This size allows for genuine connection, personalized attention, and a sense of community that larger retreats simply can't offer.
What's a typical daily schedule? While each retreat has its own rhythm, a typical day might include:
Morning yoga or meditation
Delicious breakfast
Workshop or cooking class
Lunch together
Free time (walk, read, rest, swim, explore)
Afternoon session (yoga, meditation, or creative workshop)
Massage or holistic treatment (scheduled throughout the week)
Evening meal
Optional evening gathering or free time
The schedule always includes plenty of unstructured time—this isn't a packed itinerary. There's space to rest, reflect, and simply be.
What should I bring? We'll send you a detailed packing list when you book, but essentials include:
Comfortable clothing for yoga and movement
Layers for cooler mornings/evenings
Walking shoes
Swimwear (many properties have pools)
Any personal items you need
An open heart and curious mind
You don't need a yoga mat—we provide everything you need for sessions.
What's the weather like? Spring (April-June) brings mild temperatures, blooming flowers, and increasing warmth—perfect for morning yoga outdoors. Autumn (September-November) offers golden light, comfortable temperatures, and harvest season abundance. We recommend layers as mornings and evenings can be cool.
Booking & Payment

Health & Safety

What if I have a medical condition? Please let us know about any medical conditions, injuries, or health concerns when you book. This helps us ensure you're safe and comfortable throughout the retreat. Our teachers and facilitators are experienced at adapting practices to suit individual needs.
Is the property accessible? Accessibility varies by property. Many of our venues are in historic buildings, which may have stairs and uneven surfaces. Please contact us about specific accessibility needs, and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
